Who We Are
Founded in 1974, the Mount Pearl Marlins Swim Team is a long-standing amateur competitive swim club based in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. For over five decades, the Marlins have built a strong reputation for developing athletic talent, fostering a love of competitive swimming, and contributing to the sport at the provincial, regional, and national levels.
The Marlins support swimmers at every stage of their journey through three program streams. Our Pre-Competitive programs, Mini and Mighty Marlins, introduce young swimmers to the skills and fundamentals needed for competitive swimming. Our Competitive program includes multiple training groups divided by age and skill level, serving swimmers roughly 9 to 20 years old who compete across Newfoundland and Labrador, travel to competitions outside the province, and may represent Team NL. Our Masters program welcomes swimmers aged 18 and over, supporting both fitness-focused athletes and those who continue to compete.
Across all programs, Marlins swimmers train in age- and stage-appropriate environments that encourage personal growth, athletic development, and a lifelong love of sport. Community is at the heart of our team. Swimmers mentor one another, learn together, and build confidence in a positive, supportive environment where lasting friendships are formed.
